This month's Echoes has an exclusive interview that I did with Burning Spear, who's back touring again after an absence of several years. I also give the lowdown on a new Trojan compilation called Lovers Rock: The Sound Of Romantic Reggae and pay tribute to the Mighty Diamonds in the aftermath of Tabby and Bunny's tragic deaths. Reggae Album Of The Month had to be Horace Andy's Midnight Rocker, produced by Adrian Sherwood, which appears alongside reviews of new albums by Zio
My contribution to the latest Riddim Magazine is a feature on long-time reggae illustrator Tony McDermott, whose best-known work has appeared on album sleeves released by Greensleeves and Ariwa over the past forty years. Tony has a fascinating story which you can read here in German, plus Riddim have have done his legacy proud with several spreads showing a range of his work for both labels.
