Echoes Magazine - June 2026

Echoes' double bill this month features Protoje, celebrating the release of his latest album The Art Of Acceptance, and Aza Lineage, a Jamaican roots singer whose debut album Rebel Dawta is produced by King Jammy. I'd like to thank both artists for their time in making these interviews possible. Both are articulate spokespeople for their generation, whilst our monthly Vibes column sheds light on the controversy surrounding Yaksta and his remarks about whether certain of his contemporaries are real Rastafarians, or just fakes.

This issue's other reggae related pages include reviews of new singles and albums - with Vybz Kartel's God & Time taking centre stage - and also Derek A Bardowell's book Fire Inna Dancehall - A Legacy Of Sound, Style And Struggle.
